Prayer is the heartbeat of every mission. It's often quiet, sometimes messy, and doesn't always feel world-changing in the moment. But it is! Every time we pray, whether it's a whisper in the morning or a full-on tearful plea... God always listens. And those prayers? They're not just background noise. They're the real work behind every bold step in missions, keeping our hearts aligned with what God's doing around the globe.
At Mosaic, we deeply believe that a vibrant prayer life is not just a personal spiritual practice, it is the fuel behind global evangelism.

Prayer: The Starting Point of Every Mission
Throughout the Bible, we see that prayer precedes power. Before Jesus began His public ministry, He fasted and prayed (Matthew 4:1–2). Before the early Church sent out missionaries, they sought the Lord in prayer and fasting (Acts 13:2–3). Prayer is never a last resort; it is the launchpad of effective ministry.
When believers spend time with God in prayer, they are aligning themselves with His heart. They begin to see what He sees and care about what He cares about. And this alignment compels action, an action that brings the Bible to unreached communities, supports churches under persecution and transforms local neighborhoods through the love of Jesus.
Our Mission, Rooted in Prayer
Here at Mosaic, our mission is to encourage, equip, and mobilize churches in developing nations to be the hands and feet of Jesus in their communities. We don’t offer one-size-fits-all programs. Instead, we build relationships and come alongside local churches to support what God is already doing through them.
"The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." — James 5:16 (NIV)

The Four Movements We Pray Into
Our ministry efforts fall into four overlapping movements: relief, development, discipleship, and mobilization. Each of these is sustained and empowered by prayer:
When it comes to relief, we pray for wisdom to know what to do, provision to meet urgent needs, and compassion to guide every step.
For development, our prayers are focused on long-term change, that communities grow strong and thrive with dignity.
Discipleship? That’s where we ask God to grow deep roots of faith and spiritual maturity in every believer.
And mobilization happens when we boldly ask God to raise up leaders, send them out, and use them to reach the unreached (Luke 10:2).
How You Can Fuel Global Evangelism Through Prayer
You may never step foot in a remote village or preach in another language, but through prayer, you are present. You are participating in the work of the Kingdom. Here are a few ways to deepen your prayer life in support of missions:
1. Create Regular Prayer Times for the Nations
Set aside intentional prayer times to lift up specific regions, churches, or leaders. Pray by name if possible. Learn about their needs. Intercede for protection, boldness, and fruitfulness.
"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful." — Colossians 4:2 (NIV)
2. Praise God for What He’s Already Doing
God is always at work, even when we cannot see it. Let your prayer life begin with thanksgiving. Praise God for growing churches, new believers being baptized, families being restored, and communities being transformed.
"Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name." — Psalm 100:4 (NIV)
3. Ask the Lord to Use You
Missions is not reserved for a select few. Every believer has a role. Ask the Lord how He wants to use your life, your gifts, and your prayers to build His Kingdom. Even a simple act of obedience, like committing to daily prayer for a region, can have eternal significance.
"Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?' And I said, 'Here am I. Send me!'" — Isaiah 6:8 (NIV)
4. Invite Others to Join You
Prayer multiplies when it's done in the community. Invite your family, your small group, or your church to join you in prayer for missions. Share stories. Celebrate answered prayers. Watch how God moves.
Your Prayers Make a Real Difference
Your generous support will make a very real and direct impact in the lives of real people, and we will always show you proof. But your financial support is only one part of the story.
Your prayers are the spiritual foundation that powers every effort. When you pray, you join in the work of healing, restoring, and evangelizing.
Lives are being changed, children are being fed, churches are being planted, and disciples are being trained, not because of flashy programs but because faithful believers are praying.

Let’s Be a Praying People
If you're new to prayer or struggling to stay consistent, start simple. Talk to God throughout your day. Turn your commute into prayer time. Whisper words to God while doing laundry.
Read the Psalms and let them shape your own prayers.
There is no perfect formula, only a perfect Savior who listens and responds.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." — Philippians 4:6 (NIV)
Let us commit to a life of prayer that fuels a movement of missions. Let us lift up the Church in every nation so that it may shine brightly in dark places. May we be faithful to intercede, support, and believe that through Christ, the nations will be reached.
