Sometimes, the most powerful stories come from the quietest voices.
In a rural village tucked away in Tanzania, an elderly man named Mr. Mola came to Jesus with nothing but a heart longing for peace. No expectations. No requests. Just a soul seeking salvation. He didn’t come to ask for clothes, food, or a better home; he simply came for Jesus. But God, in His goodness, had so much more in store. This is a beautiful reminder of how Jesus works. Jesus meets people where they are and brings together everyday kindness, local churches, and generous hearts to transform lives.
Mr. Mola’s story was shared with us by our Mosaic International Leader in Tanzania, Francis Njogu, who walks daily with people like Mr. Mola and sees both the heartbreak and the hope firsthand.
From Salvation to Support
After giving his life to Christ, Mr. Mola’s pastor quickly noticed the incredible hardship he was facing. No shoes. No clothes. No food. No electricity. His home was falling apart around him. Every single day was a struggle for survival, and still, he hadn’t asked for a thing.
That’s the kind of man he is.
Wanting to help, the pastor reached out to Mosaic International, and thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we were able to take the first step: a set of clothes.

For most of us, that might seem small, but for Mr. Mola, it meant everything. It meant dignity. Warmth. It meant he was seen. But as Francis and the local team continued to visit him, it became clear, he was still going to bed hungry.
God’s Provision, Delivered Through People
With the help of our community, we were able to bring food directly to Mr. Mola. He welcomed it with quiet tears and humble gratitude. He hadn’t come to Jesus expecting handouts. And yet, Jesus was already moving... meeting his deepest needs, one meal, one moment at a time.
Despite his age, Mr. Mola isn’t one to sit idly by. He’s a lifelong farmer who knows the value of hard work. But years of drought have devastated his land. On top of that, a serious injury... caused by a tree branch while cutting wood... left one of his eyes permanently damaged. His health has declined. His energy is low. Even something as basic as preparing food is now a challenge.
Still, he keeps going. One day at a time.
Today, thanks to the support of people like YOU, Mr. Mola now has not only food and clothes but something many of us take for granted: a solar light.
After years of living in darkness, he can now see at night. And with that small light has come something even brighter... hope.

The Power of Relationships
This is the heart of Mosaic International. We don’t bring ready-made answers. We build relationships. We don’t swoop in, we walk alongside. Because we believe real change happens when the local church is empowered to love its neighbors well.
What’s happening in Tanzania isn’t just a story of relief, it’s a story of restoration. It’s a growing Jesus' Mosaic... each act of kindness, each donation, each church partner forming part of God’s picture of redemption.
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in. I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.”–
Our Work in Tanzania
Tanzania is one of the most beautiful places on earth. It's home to world-class safaris, vibrant culture, and the towering majesty of Mount Kilimanjaro. But alongside its breathtaking beauty lies real struggle:
Only 16% of the population has access to electricity
Over 70% lack safe drinking water
Nearly 58 million people live here—many with limited access to education and basic care
But there’s good news: the church is alive and active.
In partnership with dozens of local churches across the Kilimanjaro region and beyond, we’re working to bring light... both literally and spiritually... to these communities. Our key initiatives include:
Safe water and solar light outreaches
Investment in education
Church mobilization and leadership development
Pastor and youth leader training conferences
Outreaches in communities impacted by poverty, witchcraft, and hopelessness
And leading the charge? Our faithful partners and friends, Francis and Vickie Njogu.

They’ve been there since the beginning, pouring their lives into outreach, mentorship, VBS programs, and equipping pastors across East Africa. Watching them grow as leaders, parents, and servants of Christ has been nothing short of inspiring. Together, we’ve seen God move in ways we never imagined... reviving churches and restoring hope where there once was despair.
What’s Next for Mr. Mola?
Mr. Mola’s story is just one example of the ongoing need around the world. While much has been done, so many like him still live without basic comforts, without security, support, or the assurance that someone sees and cares for them.
But there is hope.
When we show up, when we listen, give, and act, we remind people like Mr. Mola that they matter. That they are not forgotten.
If you want to be part of that hope, to help transform lives and support individuals like Mr. Mola, you can learn more about our work with Mosaic International and how to get involved here.
